Ghostly Treats

Halloween is only a few weeks away, and that means we’re all stock piling candy for the trick-or-treaters, right? To be honest, I already ate mine… but if you didn’t yet, do something cute with that candy before temptation sets in!

Lots of times we want options for handing out candy to our trick-or-treaters, or party favors to our guests… so why not make something simple! These treat bags are super easy to make, and they’ll only cost you the price of the candy you buy! Plus, if you can’t (or choose not to) be home for those pesky trick-or-treaters, you can leave them outside your door in place of that boring bowl of candy!

What You’ll Need:

An Old Sheet
Candy
Scissors
Ribbon or String
Sharpie

The Steps:

1. Cut your sheets into square-shaped pieces, but make sure they are big enough to fit your candy in the center (I used only about 1/3 of a sheet for this project to make all of the bags pictured).

2. Wrap the candy in the sheet like you are wrapping a present, but instead of folding up the bottom, twist it in a bunch.

3. Tie your twist shut.

4. Draw a cute face on your ghost-shaped bag.

5. Put them in a cute box or bowl for trick-or-treaters to take (I chose to put mine in an old cigar box)!

You can use different colored sheets to make different Halloween mascots! Also, put as much or as little of whatever candy you’d like to hand out! Another idea includes making a cute sign to hang on your bowl or box of treats if you’re not home to let your trick-or-treaters know that it’s OK to take one!

I hope you make treat bags of your own! Until next time…
