Happy almost-spring, friends! With the weather warming up, I’m looking forward to more time with the shop doors open! Better weather means way more projects too, so today I’m tackling a tool I use a lot in my shop – rotary tools! As per usual, I’ll be sharing the ins and outs of the rotary tool here on the website and demo’ing some rotary tool uses over on my Instagram! There is a ton of …
Spring is approaching, which means more creative ways to spend time with loved ones and celebrate fun events – like St. Patrick’s Day! And, to help keep the celebrations going even in the most unconventional of years, I was challenged by my friends at Carhartt and Guiness to find creative ways to celebrate at home for their #MakeYourOwnParade campaign! So, to help keep things safe and fun, I created a DIY concrete coffee table that doubles as a drink cooler or fire pit for outdoor entertaining!
Last year I built a custom sliding barn door for the back room in my parents’ house. While the door is holding up great, the room itself is beginning to lose it’s identity. It’s currently a catch-all for my dad’s work stuff and also a pseudo-mud room (without the benefits of being set up as a mudroom)… and with everyone needing a home office space at the moment, my dad has been feeling a bit lost. So, to help him get organized, I transformed a cluttered corner in the back room into a smart and efficient home office and smart home hub with a custom DIY corner desk that I built for under $150 in lumber!
Over the past few months I have been struggling with some medical issues with my jaw and that’s forced me to take some time away. But, here’s the thing… I am really bad at taking time away. So, instead I decided to take it easy and make some DIY boho wall art for my apartment. This project was awesome because I was able to make THREE pieces in one weekend and I did it all for under $20! Here’s how!
