Spring is approaching, which means more creative ways to spend time with loved ones and celebrate fun events – like St. Patrick’s Day! And, to help keep the celebrations going even in the most unconventional of years, I was challenged by my friends at Carhartt and Guiness to find creative ways to celebrate at home for their #MakeYourOwnParade campaign! So, to help keep things safe and fun, I created a DIY concrete coffee table that doubles as a drink cooler or fire pit for outdoor entertaining!
Last year I built a custom sliding barn door for the back room in my parents’ house. While the door is holding up great, the room itself is beginning to lose it’s identity. It’s currently a catch-all for my dad’s work stuff and also a pseudo-mud room (without the benefits of being set up as a mudroom)… and with everyone needing a home office space at the moment, my dad has been feeling a bit lost. So, to help him get organized, I transformed a cluttered corner in the back room into a smart and efficient home office and smart home hub with a custom DIY corner desk that I built for under $150 in lumber!
After two and a half years in my shed-shop (I cannot believe it’s been that long already), it is finally time for a shakeup in this little space. The past few years in here have been incredible, but it’s getting a little crowded in here. I also underestimated just how big my little business would grow in this space (thanks to all of you)! So, it’s time to make this shed work better as a workshop and a space to document my content with all of you… starting with my tool wall! I’ve been wanted to create a DIY concrete accent wall in my life for a while now, so why not do it in the workshop! This is a project that works well for any space (not just a workshop), and I can’t wait to show you how I made it happen!
Over the past few months I have been struggling with some medical issues with my jaw and that’s forced me to take some time away. But, here’s the thing… I am really bad at taking time away. So, instead I decided to take it easy and make some DIY boho wall art for my apartment. This project was awesome because I was able to make THREE pieces in one weekend and I did it all for under $20! Here’s how!
