A lot of my readers have been asking for a good project for beginners lately, so I partnered with Kreg and BuildSomething to provide just that. I made this simple coat rack with pocket hole joinery for $5 in lumber! Include the hooks, a small can of stain, and screws, and you’ve got yourself a […]
If you’re a last minute, plant killing, money saving human like I am, then oh man do I have the project for you. Christmas is really close, and I just started decorating! Why? A few weeks ago the beautiful, rad, and talented Rachel Metz reached out to me about a collaboration, and I couldn’t be more stoked! Together, we put our creative brains to work and decided it would be so much fun to do a DIY swap challenge. So, the two of us went to our respective shops on opposite coasts (she’s all the way in California), packaged up some fun materials, and sent them to each other. I sent her a box full of goodies that she made into the cutest Mason Jar Sconces, and I used her materials to create bohemian mixed-media string art for my bedroom! This project was so much fun and had my mind racing – there are so many things you can do with string, nails, and wood! Here’s how I made mine, and how you can make your own!
Welcome to The Home Depot’s DIY Workshop Virtual Party! Today is the day that I finally get to show you guys my spin on that super cool wooden door mat DIY that I spoke about in last week’s post! I chose to add a fun geometric spin to this DIY and turned my boards horizontal to maximize the look of my mat. This project was super fun, really easy, and extremely inexpensive. If you want to make your own this weekend, you can visit your local Home Depot for a FREE workshop! Hey, if you love my spin on the project, you can print out this post and bring it with you!
