Home Depot DIY Challenge: X-Base Lamp

When my friends at The Home Depot asked me to participate in their 2016 DIY Challenge, I was stoked! But, then they told me that my surprise material was millwork... what. Honestly, the only time I've ever used millwork from Home Depot was fixing the moulding in our home. So, needless to say, my feelings of excitement turned to feelings of pure fear. Luckily, I'm kind of crazy, and decided to go to my local store to stare at the millwork section for a bit. That's when I came up with this X-Base Lamp!

DIY Retro Side Table

Let's be real. I am the uncrowned queen of losing the remote. I swear the bed eats it every night and it's totally not my fault. At this point, it's getting a bit ridiculous and my other half is ready to tape it to my hand. I need my hands though, so instead of tape, I came up with a better idea; I decided to take some cash out of my yoga teaching fund and create a cute retro-styled side table to house my important gadgets.  Plus side, mid century modern and retro furniture are coming back into style. So, I get to join the cool kids club and binge-watch Netflix at the same time.

DIY Geometric Wood Art Table

Lately I've been seeing the coolest geometric wood art all over the place. Frankly, I am all about it. I have been drooling over the countless art pieces I've seen come across my feed lately, and decided it was time to make my own. So, being that "Woodworking Wednesdays" (also known as, my day off which is spent in the shop) is a thing until the end of August, I took a few hours today to create my own geometric wood art table. It cost less than $40 to make... and it's pretty awesome.

DIY Wooden Drink Cooler

Fourth of July is right around the corner, and I’ll be celebrating America’s independence in the most patriotic way possible – a backyard BBQ and listening to the Hamilton album on repeat (okay, maybe that's just me). But for real, backyard BBQ'ing will be commencing, so that means we're going to need somewhere to hold our adult (and kid) beverages. I spent some time in the shop this week creating a distressed, patriotic beverage cooler to show off at the party I'll be attending. It only required a few simple tools and two afternoons to create!
