DIY Vinyl Record Clock

If there are two things in life that I really love, it’s thrifting and crafting. But if there’s anything I like better than doing both separately, it’s upcycling my thrifted finds. Especially old records that I’ve dug for, but unfortunately don’t work. I took a record from my most recent dig and I created this awesome vinyl record clock in under 30 minutes and for $8. Guess what, you can too! Add some flare to your office or dorm room in just a few minutes!
How To Make A Vinyl Record Clock

1. Disassemble your clock kit according the directions on the box. You may just have to remove the nut and the washer from the thread.
2. Thread the mechanism through the record by rotating it like a screw.
3. Replace the washer first and then the nut to tighten the mechanism to the record.

4. Place the smaller hand on first (push down until you can’t push it any further). Once it’s in place, thread the big hand on next. The hands won’t touch, so don’t force the larger hand to move past where it belongs.

5. Add a battery and use the dial on the back of the clock to adjust the time.

That’s it!Clock kits come in many shapes and colors, and can even include numbers! You can design your clock to look any way you wish! Also, many thrift stores sell working and non-working records for $1! I found mine in a box of records that was given to me for $5!
What do you think of this project? Is it something you’d add to your home decor?
