Handmade gifts are so meaningful, especially around the holidays. I love making gifts for my friends and family but sometimes there just isn’t a lot of time to make them! So I’ve put together some quick DIY gifts that you can make last minute and feel confident that your friends and family will feel extra loved when they receive them. If you’re like me and you’d rather get creative instead of braving the mall this week, give one of these projects a try! I’ve linked each blog post where I showed how I made these projects and few of them also have YouTube tutorials, so you can follow along with each step in the videos!
1. Chevron Cutting Board

Cutting boards are such a great gift, especially for someone who loves to cook. They look beautiful when they’re on the counter, and they’re practical, who doesn’t need to chop stuff everyday? But a basic cutting board can be just that, basic. If you’re looking to make a statement, a chevron cutting board is the way to go. You can follow my tutorial and make it your own with different wood species.
2. Resin Ocean Cutting Board & Coasters

If there’s someone on your list who loves to entertain they’ll definitely love serving their guests from a custom Resin Ocean Tray. You’ll get bonus points if you make matching Resin Ocean Coasters too! Even if you’re new to resin art you’ll have a lot of fun making them and the project possibilities are endless once you get started.
Watch my tutorial on YouTube to see exactly how I made the ocean cutting board!
3. Hexagon Tray

For the person who loves to cozy up on the couch with a cup of coffee or a snack, a tray to put everything in is the perfect gift. Actually, you could use this Hexagon Serving Tray as a catch all tray too. There are a ton of uses for it. I love the design on the inside but you could speed up this project even more if you skipped the pattern and keep it simple.
Take a peek at the YouTube tutorial for the step by step instructions on how to make it!
4. Pallet Wood Picture Frame & Holiday Printable

Pallet wood is pretty easy to come by and the uses for it are endless. I made this Pallet Wood Picture Frame and it’s such a fun way to repurpose material. You can use the printable included in the blog post to have a fun winter/holiday message inside the frame or you could get a photo printed or even include some of your own artwork if you have that skill! This gift can truly be uniquely from you and customized to the person who is receiving it.
5. Scrap Wood Wall Mosaic

Wall art can be a beautiful gift, perfect in fact for someone who’s recently moved into a new home. You can easily match this Scrap Wood Wall Mosaic to someone’s home by customizing the color and style. They’re really such a statement gift and also a great way to use material you may have sitting around the shop.
If you want to see the details of how I made them check out this YouTube tutorial.
I hope these projects can spark some creativity for you during the holidays. Let’s give more handmade gifts and make the people in our lives feel extra special this year. So now that you’re done reading this blog get out there and make something awesome.
Stay tuned for the last few posts of this year, I’ve got more holiday inspo for you and a wrap up of 2024. Until then, happy DIYing friends!
