As we come to a close on 2024 I thought it would be fun to look back at some of the projects we tackled this year. What I’ve realized is that a lot of my favorite projects were done with or for my family and this couldn’t make me happier. I love collaborating on projects and those collaborations are made even more special when they’re with my family. So I hope you enjoy this highlight reel of this year and I can’t wait to see what 2025 will bring us!

1. Finishing my Workshop
It took a year to turn my 1.5 car garage into the workshop of my dreams and it sure was worth the wait. This is my most favorite project this year because it makes all of my other projects possible. I loved my shed shop and all that I was able to create within its small footprint, but now having the space to assemble projects, permanent tool stations for my bigger tools, and organization that keeps everything where I can find it inspires me to get into my shop and make stuff.
2. Laundry Room
This project was massive. It started with a freak storm and crazy flooding in our basement which added so much more work before we could even get started, but honestly the waterproofing gives me so much peace of mind for future storms. In the end this laundry room makeover tested my abilities, my patience and my physical limits. But man was the finish worth every step it took to get there. Doing laundry is no longer a chore that I dread because the space is so tidy and aesthetically pleasing.

3. Surprise Bedroom Makeover for My Little Brother
My little brother got a new house, got engaged, and went on vacation basically all at the same time. While he was away my family and I demoed the downstairs of the house for him, which he knew we were doing. But I really wanted to surprise him with a completed bedroom when he came home from vacation, so I made it my mission to have a space for him to live in his house while we worked on the rest of it. I had a week to get it done and boy was the pay off worth it!

4. Bedroom Makeover for My Niece
My niece had been asking me to redo her bedroom for what seemed like forever. I was so happy to finally get to do this for her, and she was so happy to challenge me to use the color pink for everything. Although pink is a color my channel has never seen, I loved getting to do this with her. Sharing my love of DIY with my niece really reminded me of what it was like when I would help my dad with projects when I was younger.

5. Coffee Table Build Off with My Dad
You all know how I love working with my dad. He’s such a big part of a lot of my projects and of course the reason I got into DIYing in the first place. We had an awesome roadtrip together and we made our projects side by side without knowing what the other was doing. Of course my dad really surprised me with his work and of course I should’ve expected him to blow me away.

Happy New Year
The end of the year really makes me think about all that’s happened throughout the year and I am so grateful for it. I truly could not do what I do without your support, so thank you for being part of my DIY life. I am so hopeful for this next year.
